Part 2: Jonathan Hines, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Wilmington Health

The second part of this discussion will be lead by Dr. Jonathan Hines from Wilmington Health.  Dr. Hines will tee up the conversation by sharing his particular group’s strategy and experiences in addressing this culture shift through a SWOT analysis.

We will then open the floor for a conversation along the lines of addressing the required cultural transformation with the backdrop of moving them from a culture of volume to a culture of value.

Some questions to consider:

  1. Top down – how to you create a compelling vision and energy for the transformation? 

  2. Top down – what are the key measures/numbers that make the transformation efforts tangible to everyone?

  3. Bottom up – how do you keep the focus of these team efforts on key objectives and not get sidetracked

  4. Bottom up-  how do you scale up these efforts across the entire enterprise?   (without going crazy)

  5. Core process- how do you really break down organizational boundaries to create improved value?

  6. Core processes – how to you begin to redesign when that may mean changes (or elimination) of team members roles?   (entrenched interests)
